WHAT IS A DmX DISTRIBUTOR?

A DMX is a modular progressive distributor that doses and separates the lubricant with a piston movement.

This system is highly qualified to dispense oil or grease to one or more groups of carriers. Each piston is in series with the one before or after it.

ELEMENTS OF A DMX

The modular system consists of two main parts:

• the bases, subdivided into entry, intermediate or intermediate and final.
• the dosing elements of different flow rates.

The number of elements must be at least 3 and at most 20 elements.

All dosing elements have standard flow rates of 40 – 80 – 160 – 250 – 400 – 500 – 650 mm3/cycle and two outlets.

DOSING ELEMENTS

Dosing device

There are the usual dispensers that do not have any additives.

With visual rod

With M8 or M12 PNP inductive sensor

This control consists of an inductive sensor integrated in the side of the dispenser. When the dosing piston moves, it displaces the sighting shaft and the inductive sensor gives a signal when it reads the presence of the shaft. This system is used in installations for cycle control and can count up to 300 movements per minute.

Bridging element

This element has the function of transferring the flow from one or both outlets to the next element. It can be ordered with the bridge exit enabled on the right, on the left or on both sides.

The arrows on the dispenser indicate the outputs connected to the next element.

When using the bridging element it is necessary to plug the outlet of the base in correspondence of the arrow indicated on the dispenser.

Installation or removal is the same as with any other dispenser.

By-pass element

The by-pass element has the same dimensions as the dosing model, but does not contain the piston. It has the function to create a reserve position in case the number of outputs needs to be changed.

When installed, the outlet holes in the respective base must be plugged. It can be fitted at the start to allow for additional points or introduced at a later stage to reduce the number of outlets. To install a by-pass element you must have at least 3 dosing elements.

Other accessories

Memory pressure sensors

These gauges are normally used to control possible excess pressure in the main and secondary lines.

If the pressure is higher than the set pressure, the rod comes out of its seat and remains out until the release lever is manually operated. Intervention is recommended after the cause has been identified.

EV-2 shut-off valves

With these valves, we can make a single line lubrication circuit and lubricate parts of the machine as required. To do this, we must install a valve at the inlet of each distributor, opening only one valve at a time.
