From grease to ink: The importance of centralised greasing in the printing industry

Diseño-sin-título-(9)

Celebrating Book Day we discovered how automatic greasing keeps the publishing industry moving.

What does this mean?

Automatic lubrication systems are installed on virtually all types of machinery in the printing industry. The main cylinder bearings, roller bearings and camber controls of these machines are lubricated with oil or grease. This type of system is essential to keep the machinery moving smoothly, reduce downtime and improve operation.

It is worth noting that by implementing a greasing system on these machines you achieve these benefits:

  1. Reduced wear: By ensuring that all moving parts of the machine are properly lubricated, wear and friction are reduced, prolonging service life.
  2. Increased efficiency: A centralised greasing system ensures that all moving parts receive the right amount of lubricant at the right time, improving machine performance and efficiency.
  3. Reduced maintenance costs: By having an automated centralised greasing system, maintenance costs are reduced by avoiding costly repairs due to premature wear of your parts.
  4. Improved safety: By ensuring that moving parts are properly lubricated, you reduce the risk of workplace accidents and machinery breakdowns. So it contributes to a safer working environment.
  5. Ease of maintenance: A centralised lubrication system makes machine maintenance easier. It allows lubrication to be scheduled automatically and lubricant levels to be tracked more efficiently.

In the printing industry, two types of lubrication systems are typically used depending on the size of the machine For small and large machines, volumetric oil and grease systems are used in combination with automatic pumps controlled by the machine panel On the other hand, for medium and large machines and installations, such as rotogravure multi-colour printing presses, progressive grease systems are used. These systems have a progressive metering unit for each section and allow independent start-up. In addition, a control element located in the circuit makes it possible to identify any anomalies that may arise.

We offer a wide range of solutions for the printing industry. Our lubrication equipment guarantees machine life and eliminates downtime. If you have any questions, please contact our technical team.
